Chapter 12

Alyssa's eyes fluttered open, her eyelids adjusting to her environment. Enveloped by Ace's intoxicating scent, she smiled as she closed her eyes and stretched in the bed.

Something was different…probably it was because her bed felt softer than usual. She pulled the quilt up to her nose to inhale her mate's scent wondering how it got there.

Julia's familiar snort interrupted her and her eyes sprang open almost immediately.

She gasped when she realized she was in Ace's bedroom. What was happening, how did she get there? She raised the quilt and peered down. She heaved a sigh of relief when she saw she still had her gown on.

She recalled the event that had happened and her heart ached again. Her wolf intervened and told her how Ace had saved her when she went unconscious, but Alyssa countered. It was Ace that was responsible for every pain that she felt.
