I turned away from Lucas and walked towards the pack house; that was until I collided headfirst with Meg and Mara.

"Hey there, escapist!" Meg greeted me with a grin that hinted she was drunk.

I was surprised, so I tried to muster up a convincing excuse. "I am just tired."

"Leaving so soon? Nonsense! The actual party is just getting started," Mara declared.

"And you can't leave without a proper send-off!" Meg chimed in, mischief dancing in her intoxicated eyes.

Meg leant in as if she were telling the party's biggest secret when she seemed sober despite being drunk. "Anya, sweetie, you can't leave without trying the pièce de résistance—our very own world-famous, special brew!"

"Lucas already told me about it."

"Good, then you should at least try it."

"Oh, no! No drinks, please." I shook my head, holding up my hands in protest.

"It's not too strong, I swear." She slurred.

"Yeah, I can see that." I rolled my eyes.

Meg's intoxicated eyes sparkled with excitement as she insisted,
