Gypsy lay still, very still. Her mind reeled with a combination of so much shock, disappointment, and anger that she didn't even know the core emotion.

Gianna.

Was that it? All this while, every time they had a passionate moment, was Enzo always thinking of Gianna? Imagining that she was his dead wife?

Her heart sinking, she braced her palm against Enzo's chest and tried to nudge him away, her mouth no longer responding to Enzo's.

It took him some seconds to register her sudden resistance. With his hand on the sand, he lifted himself off her a bit to look at her face. Her emotions must've been obvious because his brows creased in alarm.

“Princess, what's wrong? What happened?”

“Get off me, Enzo.” She gritted out, more out of misery than anger.

“Hey?” He tried to cup her cheek but she turned her head before his palm could touch her. “What did I do? Gypsy, I thought you were enjoying this as much as I was. What did I do?”
