Chapter 16

Lieutenant William once again pulled my arm and dragged me out without granting the man to retort. I'm quite confused as why did the Lieutenant knows that guy. Are they acquainted before?

"I thought you got seized by them?" I implored, a bit perplexed about the twisted situation.

"We got hooked by their trap but that man earlier was part of the army before. We're compatriots and so we sort things out."

Then, he halted from his pace. "I'm guessing that you've got busted in their bait, too?"

"Ahuh. If not, then why am I here?"

Lieutenant William chuckled a little. "Are you all by yourself?"

I shook my head. "I have two pals with me but he tugged them out someplace."

He hummed before undoing his grasp on my hand.

"We have an estimated hour's ride to enter the border of the North. Are you still apt for finding your mother there?"
