Chapter 25

"The truck has been loaded. We're off to go."

I was in deep thought when Sovine gathered my attention.

Looking at him, I tilted my head a bit, gesturing to him that I'll talk to him for a while. He nods and we strode to the niche where no one can hear our conversation.

"What do you want us to talk about?" he said and I notice the hint of seriousness in his voice.

My face grew grim and my brows were slightly pulled down.

"My instinct never failed me but there's something off that I'm having a bad feeling about this trip. I'll leave the Aardwolves and the Black Vultures in your care. Do tell this to Cerulean before we left."

He was silent and I took that as a vestige to continue my narration.

"I want you and Cerulean to protect these people when things go wrong. And if I fail to do my task, leave before everything mess up. There's a lower chance that I can get out but I'll squeeze my way in. I'll take it from there, don't wait for my si
