Heart Surgeon

“Dr. Verde, nice meeting you!”. Nakangiting bati ni Dr. Anton, one of my role model in pursuing internist and my favorite author and excellent surgeon.

“It’s an honor to meet you, Dr. Anton. You know I’ve been reading your books and I am thinking of taking cardiologist for my masters”.

Tumawa ito ng mahina. Brows up in amusement.

“Wow! A top internist like you would want to become a heart surgeon?”.

“Can’t I?”.

“Nahhh.. It would be my fall”.

We both laugh. Gumaan ang pakiramdam ko. I thought my three days here would be boring.

“Perhaps you can cater some of my quires?”. I asked shamelessly. Pagkakataon ko na ito. Dr. Anton is a well-known heart surgeon and his works are beyond excellent.

“You’re buying me a dinner?”.

Tumawa ako. I didn’t know his this talkative and he got some humor.

“Well…it depends–

“Woah!”. He let out a heartly laugh. Tumingin sa gawi naming ang ibang doctor na naroon.

I didn’t know na may convention pala ang mga batikang doctor dito sa Batangas. Kaya
