Holding the Line

Knowing that whatever awaited us in Alchemera, we would face it together, I took a deep breath and stepped closer to the portal, feeling its magnetic pull. The runes began to glow, responding to our presence.

"There's no turning back now," I said softly, my gaze fixed on the swirling energy within the archway. "This is our only chance to save Grandma."

Duke moved to stand beside me, his presence a steadying force.

With a final glance at them, I stepped through the portal, the world around me dissolving into a blur of light and shadow. The sensation was disorienting, as if I were being pulled apart and reassembled in a new reality.

When the world came back into focus, we found ourselves standing in a vast, otherworldly landscape. The air was thick with the scent of ancient magic, and the ground beneath our feet pulsed with a faint, rhythmic energy.

Elara's eyes widened in awe as she took in our surroundings. "This place... it's like nothing I've ever seen," she breathed.
