Chapter 40 Let Me Love You

Paige's POV

I chewed my bottom lip while talking to Steve over the phone and standing in front of Noah, who's being treated by the hospital nurse. He really hurt himself when we fell down the stairs.

[Are you with him, Paige?]

I squeezed my eyes closed. "N-No, Steve. I just had an emergency."

[Are you sure?]

"Yes."

I opened my eyes only to meet Noah's intense stairs. I glanced at the nurse, who bowed and left after he finished treating Noah's wound. After the call ended, I put my phone inside my pouch and looked at Noah.

He suddenly pulled me and hugged my waist, resting his cheek against my stomach. My heart raced as I put my trembling hands on his shoulders.

"N-Noah, let go of me."

"You promised to talk to me, Paige. Let's talk."

I roamed my eyes around. We're in a public place, since we're in the hospital's emergency room.

"Not here, Noah."

He jumped from the bed and offered his hand to me. "Let's talk in my car."

I slowly nodded. "Okay."

He grabbed my hand since I didn't accept it
