Chapter 39

As the sun began to set, Jane departed from the hospital. By the time she reached the Splendid Glory villa, night had already fallen.

Upon entering, she found the downstairs empty. After changing her clothes and descending the stairs, she spotted Damien lounging on the sofa.

"Shall we eat?" he proposed.

"Sounds good," Jane replied.

As they sat across from each other, silence prevailed, save for the occasional clinking of utensils.

Once finished, Jane intended to retire for the night.

However, Damien halted her. "Seth will be meeting with you tomorrow to discuss work matters," he informed.

Jane expressed surprise. "You received the notice so quickly?"

"Indeed," Damien confirmed. "You're welcome," he added, referring to setting up her debut.

Jane appreciated his efforts and expressed her gratitude. Damien, however, appeared uninterested in verbal thanks.

"I'm more interested in other things," he mused. "Such as kissing and hugging. It's even better when we go deeper," he emphasized.
