Chapter 23: Found Daisy

After a while of searching and struggling to determine the direction, Axel followed his instincts and fortunately found Daisy resting behind a tree, quite a distance from the clinic, several tens of meters away.

"You're quite audacious to run away from me," Axel said, immediately adopting a threatening tone. Daisy had made Axel tirelessly run around searching, and this was not something to be easily overlooked.

"I was just out here enjoying the fresh air," Daisy fabricated as an excuse.

The truth was just as Axel had stated: Daisy wanted to leave because she didn't want to be involved with Axel anymore. But as Daisy tried to make her way here, her injured leg couldn't bear it anymore. She helplessly sat down, exhausted, in pain, and fearful. She burst into uncontrollable tears, lamenting her unfortunate and pitiful fate. Luckily, Axel arrived late and didn't see Daisy crying.
