42. Going to his party

“Eleanor.. this is seriously not a good idea. I think we should head back,” Avery muttered, biting her nails. She and Eleanor were driving to the farm house where Kayden and Max were having a night out. This was Eleanor’s plan to set things right not just for Avery but also for herself. She messed up with Kayden’s lunch and should apologize without any further doubt.

Eleanor rolled her eyes at her best friend, Avery, who seemed to be in a perpetual state of worry.

Eleanor leaned in, her tone oozing with reassurance. "You'll thank me later for this," she assured Avery, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Avery's concern crept into her voice as she glanced around the room, noting the masculine decor. "I doubt it. It's going to be all boys in that house. Do you really think Kayden Knight will appreciate it?" Her fingers tapped nervously on the arm of the chair.

With a nonchalant shrug, Eleanor's confidence remained unshaken. "Stop fretting, Avery. I've got everything under control." She
