"Eleanor..." Avery's voice broke through the tension, her tone resigned. "We should leave. These men always think they're right."

Avery’s eyes filled with tears. She had seen enough drama here and wasn’t prepared for more. She held Eleanor’s wrist and tried to drag her away. But the moment she tried to take Eleanor away from this place, she felt a sharp pull from Eleanor’s end as if Eleanor wasn’t moving an inch from the spot. When she turned around, she realized it wasn’t Eleanor but Kayden who had grabbed his wife’s arm and stopped her from going anywhere. Avery wondered how to absorb this.

"I am not done with my wife yet," Kayden's voice sliced through the air, sharp and commanding. Avery's heart skipped a beat at his tone, her eyes widening in surprise.
