Chapter Three

After a few minutes, the door clicked open and Mr. Moore strode out in a pair of navy blue suit that looked like it was tailored just for him. With his dark hair neatly combed to the side, and the designer suit he had on, he looked like perfection.

'Fresh from the oven'. Sheila thought. With just a glance at him, she was already drooling, she had to still herself from giving him any more than a glance. She couldn't afford to lose her guard and have him catch her gawking at him again.

She's already embarrassed herself enough for the morning.

"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting." Mr. Moore motioned for her to follow him as they walked down the hallway and she stole the opportunity to admire his broad back and long legs.

As they reached the elevator, Mr. Moore let her walk in before him.

"Ladies first." He said and Sheila smiled with gratitude.

After she walked in, Mr. Moore followed suit, and Sheila suddenly felt heat creep up her body again when Mr. Moore's arm brushed gently past hers.

"I hope you slept well Ms. Reese, you didn't have to wake up too early because of me, did you?."

"Not at all." Sheila smiled gently. "I went to bed quite early in preparation for my new job, so it was quite easy to wake up early. Plus, my nerves were way too excited not to wake up early." She grinned and Mr. Moore smiled at her.

"I'm glad you're excited to start work with us."

A few minutes of silence followed shortly after before Sheila broke it.

"Seems like Mr. Moore is quite an early bird." She said, earning a smile from him. "I'm curious, have you always been this way?"

Mr. Moore hesitated a moment before answering and just then, the elevator doors dinged open and they both walked out.

"Not quite. I've always liked a peaceful nap and a good night's rest, but being the CEO of a company such as GG comes with a load of responsibilities, ones that most times require every minute of your time."

Sheila nodded in agreement.

"You're right! You must love your company so well."

"Of course," he said as they approached the vehicle parked at the center of the entrance where the chauffeur from earlier still stood awaiting Mr. Moore "It's my legacy. Now, enough about me. Other than work qualifications, I barely know a thing about Ms. Reese." He gave a glance at her and Sheila's heart fluttered. She smiled smally.

"You seem to be quite excited about your new job. Despite your qualification, I can sense you never believed you'd be working with us, why?"

"You're right about that." Sheila grinned.

Seeing Mr. Moore approaching, the chauffeur bowed in greeting as he pulled the door open for him.

Sheila looked further from Mr. Moore, noticing for the first time the darker shade of black Mercedes Benz. Her eyes immediately flew wide open.

'She was there to drive Mr. Moore, right?'

'Yes Sheila, yes.' Her mind answered for her. But... she wasn't driving him in that car, right? She had never driven a Mercedes Benz before. She was only good at driving her own car, Zoey's, and anything far from a luxury car.

'Come on Sheila, it's just a Mercedes. Just drive it the same way you drive yours. A little carefully though. You can't go crashing your boss's car on the first day of work.' Not that she wished to any other day.

But gosh Sheila! Who are you kidding right now? How could she refer to such an expensive car as Just?

"Carter, you must have met Ms. Sheila Reese, my new secretary."

"Hello again, Carter." She said and Carter smiled at her.

"Ms. Sheila will drive me to and from work today, so you can take the day off, I believe your wife is with child, go see her." Mr. Moore told Carter.

"But, Mr. Moore..."

"Don't worry Carter, Ms. Sheila has a license." Mr. Moore informed a worried Carter and only then did he calm down.

"Thank You for the privilege, Mr. Moore." Carter bowed respectfully. "Have a great day." He said and walked away.

Sheila waited for Mr. Moore to get inside the car through the still-opened door, before climbing into the driver's seat. As she ignited the engine and pulled out of the penthouse with extra care, Mr. Moore's calm tone broke through her thoughts.

"You are yet to answer my question, Ms. Reese. You seem too excited about this job for your qualification."

Sheila glanced at him through the rearview. His eyes were fixed on her and her heart couldn't help but skip a bit. She turned her attention back to the road.

"While planning my life's dreams, I've always wanted to work in a huge office, with thousands of coworkers and outstanding pay. I mean, who doesn't want an outstanding pay?" She chuckled. "So, when I became a youth, I fell in love with GG." and its owner.' She wished she could add that.

"In a company such as GG, no qualification is too mighty. I'm certain that there are others whose qualifications beat mine in the company. Hence, I never really thought my resume would be chosen or that I'd even get the chance for an interview." She explained.

"But you did..." Mr. Moore said.

"And that's why I feel like it's one dream come through." She smiled.

"I hope working with us fulfills many other dreams of yours."

Sheila glanced up at the rare view again. Mr. Moore was still staring casually at her. She swallowed hard nervously and looked away. If only he knew some of her other dreams were to kiss him one day, see him naked, have sex with him and probably hear him moan her name while they fuck.

Those were dreams only he could bring to reality.

Weird dreams she had there.

"I hope so too." She smiled.

Sheila pulled into Mr. Moore's private parking lot. Then she stepped out and opened the door for him.

"You shouldn't do that again." Mr. Moore said as he alighted the car. "It's not gentlemanly of me to let a lady hold the car door while I alight."

"But it's my job, I'm your secretary. Doing it is part of my job description."

Mr. Moore stared at her for a while before replying.

"Fine, if you insist." Then he started towards an elevator in the parking area. "Come with me."

Sheila followed behind him, and just when they were approaching the elevator, she walked ahead of him and pressed it open. As the doors opened she gave Mr. Moore space to walk in.

"What's the floor number?"

"Twelve."

She dialed the number and then took a step back.

A minute later, the elevator's door dinged open, letting them out into the hallway of Mr. Moore's office. As they approached Mr. Moore's door, he suddenly stopped at an empty long desk. One Sheila couldn't remember from yesterday.

"This will be your desk and that over there is my office which you already know." He said and then continued walking towards his office. Sheila followed behind.

As they entered his office, Mr. Moore claimed his desk while Sheila kept standing.

"Ms. Ama, my receptionist will take you through a few previous files and documents you need to understand, and also assist you in planning my schedule until you can take care of it. But that would be when she arrives. Before then, you can edit these files, type them and return them to me for signing before mailing them to the YM directors in France." He said, indicating a file on the side of his desk. Sheila nodded.

"How does Mr. Moore like his coffee?" She inquired.

"Strong and black. No cream, zero sugar. The coffee maker is at the right end of the hallway." Sheila nodded and turned to leave, but Mr. Moore stopped her.

"I think you should probably start addressing me by my first name, Derrick. Considering we'd be sharing such close quarters. That's if you wouldn't mind me calling you Sheila?"

Sheila blinked in surprise before giving him a nod of approval.

"Of course!"

"Great, then it's Derrick when we are alone, and Mr. Moore when we are in public."

"Alright, Derrick." Sheila flashed him a smile before disappearing from the room with a racing heart.

A few minutes later, she returned with a cup of coffee for him, just as he liked it and then she left with the file he asked her to work on.

The rest of the day went by real quick and after that morning, she barely got the chance to see Derrick all day, until the close of work when she drove him back home.

"Hope your first day in your dream company was memorable?" He asked as they pulled into the penthouse that night.

"Yes, it was. Ms. Ama was kind and patient enough to see me through the previous work documents. I'm ready to commence duty as your secretary, independently." She said and saw Derrick smile.

"That's great. You're quite smart for your years."

Sheila smiled. "Thank You, Derrick."

Derrick's gaze lingered for a little longer on Sheila as they walked into the parlor and Sheila felt her body turn hot under his gaze.

"Get a good night's rest ahead of tomorrow's work." He told her and Sheila nodded.

"Goodnight Mr. Moore..."

"It's Derrick, Sheila. We agreed, didn't we?" He asked and watched Sheila blush.

"Goodnight, Derrick." She said, turned on her heels, and made for the door.

Derrick watched her the whole while, his eyes lingering on her waist. By the time she disappeared through the double Italian doors of his parlor, he found himself letting out a stifled groan and swallowing hard. He removed his suit jacket and let out a sigh as he took the stairs to his room.

The next morning, Sheila was early, but this time around, she made sure she stayed in the parlor.

When Derrick climbed down the stairs to meet her, he was wearing a pair of black trousers and a white shirt with two top buttons open, displaying his firm chiseled chest. Pecs of toned skin and strong chest muscles.

Sheila couldn't help but think he looked hot.

Derrick's dreamy black eyes caught her staring and he involuntarily found himself accessing her as well with sharp scrutiny from head to toe. She was wearing a black body hug dress that held every curve perfectly and left her hourglass figure on display. He guessed the dress had a zipper on the back.

He swallowed hard on his desires.

What the color black did to him.

He had his suit jacket and a black tie neatly folded and hanging on one arm. And by the time Sheila had broken her intense gaze from his open chest, she made for it.

"Let me help you with that." She suggested.

"Talking about helping me with things... We are meeting up with Mr. Rong Chan, chairman of Chan Groups, China. He is advanced both in age and mentality. He wouldn't talk to a young businessman who doesn't wear a complete suit which includes a tie. And as you can see, I have a thing against ties. I barely know how to wear one. Can you help me with it?"

"Uhmm..." Sheila stuttered. This was danger, she knew that one for sure. Getting that close to Derrick would be tempting herself. Oh Sheila, did this have to come up?' she questioned herself, but in the next minute, she found herself agreeing. It wasn't like she could say No. It was her job to do. She couldn't let her boss lose such an important collaboration opportunity just because of a tie.

"Sure thing. But first, we should start by picking a tie more suitable for the occasion. Black is rather too serious for the occasion."

Derrick's eyes lingered on her for a while before he finally looked away.

"To my room then." He said and started leading the way.
