20. Abandoned at the Hospital

Nikkie's POV

"What do they mean by tiers and classes? Moreover, among them?"

I watched Richard's figure, who was wondering to himself. He pulled out his suitcase and left the house.

The lonely figure behind Richard's back, who left without being released by anyone, somehow made me sad. I stroked my stomach softly, remembering Richard whispering to the baby in my stomach.

I woke up just as Richard was telling the fetus in my stomach. I chose to pretend to sleep, waiting for him to leave. I didn't expect he would kiss my forehead before leaving the room. One action that successfully made my defenses start to waver.
