34. Shawn, the Secret Confidant

Richard's POV

"Would you like to order another meal, sir?" someone asked, breaking my reverie. I gasped. I turned my head to the side and found a waitress who looked about the same age as Nikkie standing by my side. She gave me a sympathetic smile.

I looked forward, only to find that the seat Krystal had been sitting in was already empty. Ah, that's right. Krystal had said goodbye to leave earlier because she had to take care of something.

I looked back at the waitress with an awkward smile. "No, thank you. I'm already full. Can you give me the bill?" I asked politely. The waitress nodded and quickly got the bill.

I left the restaurant after paying the bill. In the car, I was still pensive. Krystal's words pierced my heart, making me disturbed.

All this time, my love for Krystal almost seemed unrequited. Krystal was ignorant, and I always ran to fulfill her every whim. It was always like that until I once thought Krystal might not love me. Also, not appreciating me.
