Chapter 2: Trouble

A shadow carefully traversed the backyard of Villa Garcia and successfully crossed the other side. The guard guarding the gate was asleep and only a few maids were still awake at that time.

The oldness of the house can be seen from the moonlight. It was large, with a wide garden. It had a picture of perfection, so as the whole villa. It was his mother's design.

Jenny couldn't help but cry as her eyes stared at the home she had left for so long.

She remembered well how she was pampered in that house when her father and mother were still alive. She missed them like how she missed her life at the villa. If only the past could be brought back. She'll be the happiest person in the world if she can hug and see her parents again.

Jennifer wiped away the tears. Even if blood stream down her face, her repeated wish would not happen. What she can do for her deceased parents was to avenge them.

The lady carefully treaded towards the backdoor. She still knew every way around the house.

"Make sure you close the windows and doors…"

She quickly hid behind the tall plants when she saw the three maids.

"There are many house-climbing gangs now. What if robbers break into the house." Voice from another maid Jenny didn't know.

That was a good opportunity for Jenny. Her effort would not be in vain.

"Tell the guards to patrol all around. They are probably sleeping again." A command from someone who seemed to be in a higher position.

Jenny didn't know who was ordering, but she was sure it was the butler.

"Darn!" she cussed when she heard the sound of the door locking near her. She found another way to get in, but the maids were quicker.

"Ugh! I thought I was lucky. But I won't give up. I will make sure that the next time I come back, I will get the things that are for me." Jenny talked to herself.

When Jenny left the place, she thought of going to a bar first. She needed some liquor to lessen her sadness and longing for her parents.

...

"WHO is that woman you're looking at?" Dexter asked Yazed.

Yazed glanced at his friend who asked before shrugging.

"You don't know, but you stare like you want her." Dexter commented. He noticed how his friend glanced at the woman who was alone at the other table.

He laughed at Dexter's comment. "And what do you think of me, a drunkard?"

"Sort of." Dexter answered shortly.

"Stupid," he said, moderately pushing Dexter who was laughing. "Did you just come to annoy me? You haven't really changed?"

"Hey, I’m a lawyer. Show me some respect." Dexter complained, but he was grinning.

"And I’m your client. I am the one paying you." He reminded Dexter.

The two laughed at the same time, then raised their glasses.

"Cheers!"

Yazed's gaze refocused on where the woman was. It was obvious that she had drunk a lot of alcohol.

"Looks like she has a big problem," Dexter commented. "Approach her."

"Why should I?"

"Don't pretend, she's obviously your type."

"Stop teasing me." Yazed suddenly became serious.

"If you say so. Are you okay with others getting ahead?" Dexter jokingly threatened him.

"We didn't come here just to seek for that kind of fun."

The two looked in the woman's direction as she created a commotion due to the approach of some men.

Yazed watched how the woman who caught his attention reacted. He furrowed his forehead when the woman pouted and frowned as she looked up at the man standing in front of her. He did not like how she acted because she looked especially attractive in the eyes of the perverted man. He suddenly recalled something that intensified his desire to take her away from danger.

"Oh, where are you going?" Dexter asked when he suddenly stood up.

Yazed seemed to hear nothing and walked straight to where the woman was. He didn't like the man holding the arm of the woman, so he quickly intervened.

"Dude, don't force someone who doesn't want to come with you." Yazed spoke loudly so that the man could clearly hear because the music around was loud.

"Don't interfere with us!" the man scolded Yazed and he was obviously drunk.

"You're forcing the person who doesn't want to come with you so I just have to intervene!" Yazed's voice was also full of anger.

"Why? Do you know her?" the arrogant man asked Yazed sarcastically.

Jenny's gaze shifted to the two men arguing. She can knock down the man who dared to take her home, but he had another one with him, thus it was a little unfair to her because she was still a woman. She stared at the man acting like a hero. He was handsome and looked unaccustomed to fighting, unlike the two men who were obviously lusting on her body.

"No, why, do you know her?" Yazed asked the same question.

"We found her first, so find another one to satisfy you!" the man gave Yazed a death glare.

Jenny was enraged at the last thing the rude man said. Even though she drunk, she was still on her right mind.

"Ahh!"

Yazed's intention to slap the man's hand when he tried to touch the woman was thwarted because he screamed in pain. Surprised, he turned his gaze to the woman because she was able to hurt the rogue. The man was not prepared for the kick, so he was badly hit. She was now standing in front of them like a tiger.

"What did you say?" Jenny asked the man angrily. "Satisfy? Geez! You're gravely mistaken!"

The man recovered from the pain after Jenny kicked his sensitive part of the body.

"You, bitch! You are brave, huh?" The man's companion angrily cussed the woman and approached her.

The woman did not give them a chance to retaliate. She gave them what they deserved. She quickly kicked his knee and punched the other man’s face at the same time. Yazed just stared at the woman in amazement. He had never seen such a woman with strength even when drunk.

"Strange woman," Dexter whispered to his stunned friend. "I guess, she's kind of your type."

"Yeah. You're right." Yazed answered subconsciously, but immediately took it back when he realized it. "What?! I mean, no! I don't like a woman with a strength of a man."

Dexter laughed at his friend's reaction. "Still pretending, but you can't deceive me. You're stuttering." He teased him.

Yazed couldn't answer when the woman accidentally hugged him because one of the opponents pushed her. The two stared at each other, while in a position where their bodies were so close. With their eyes locked, they caught a glimpse of something that seemed to be a familiar spark that they could not explain.

"Not bad," Jenny said softly after averting her eyes first.

Yazed was about to ask a question, but the woman suddenly let go of his embrace.

Jenny quickly dodged the opponent's blow which, as a result, hit Yazed.

"Oops! Sorry, handsome!" she apologized and smiled. She looked at her opponents again. "You messed with the wrong person!"

The fight continued, two against one. No one wanted to lose nor stop. Jenny leaped to the other table so that the two could not attack her.

"Bro, are you okay?" Dexter asked his friend who was punched. Even he was surprised at what happened and the woman's quick actions. Yazed wanted to help her, but the situation was reversed and he was the one who needed help.

"Fuck!" Yazed cursed and touched his jaw which was hit by the opponent's punch. He angrily grabbed the man's collar before he could get close to the woman and punched him in the face to retaliate.

Dexter also helped beat the opponent so they looked miserable.

The commotion only stopped when the manager and the security guard arrived. The man's face was grimacing and bloody while the woman did not have a single scar. Yazed admired her even more. Dexter took care of the damages that had to be paid and the two were thrown out so as not to cause any more trouble. When Yazed saw that the woman had also come out, he followed her out of concern that she might be ambushed by the insane men outside.

"Hey, we're not done inside yet." Dexter stopped Yazed when he turned around as well.

"You can go back or you can go home," Yazed replied nonchalantly.

"And you?"

"I can handle myself."

"Looks like your interest is caught. That's good news. At least I know you're not gay." Dexter laughed jokingly.

He glared at Dexter and was not pleased with his joke.

"Okay." Dexter raised his hands in surrender. "Good luck to you. Do your best!"

Yazed shook his head and left him. He followed the woman who can't walk well. And he hurriedly came to her side when she almost tripped. For the second time, their eyes meet. And they were once again frozen with their bodies touching.
