Chapter 36: Investigation

THAT place was not safe for Dexter, so he thought of staying at his friend Micko's pad for the time being. He told him what happened.

"You are the target of those people. Be grateful to your guardian angel. By the way, is she pretty?"

Dexter chuckled because of his friend's question. Whenever there was a woman involved, their conversation would sidetrack.

"I'm just kidding," Micko retorted and his face returned to seriousness. "Are you sure Kailani Monuz is the name of the woman you and Yazed are investigating?"

"That's what she calls herself. Did you discover anything about her?" Dexter asked him.

"I went to the place where her mother lives. But no one knows her nor her mother."

Dexter thought about Micko's report. "Are you saying her identity is fake?"

"Sort of, but based on your story, she takes good care of Yazed's mother. Even his mother only trusts and obeys her."

Dexter nodded to his friend.

"Look at this carefully." Micko showed him a picture he got from surveillance camera.
