A Lead

Lorenzo's POV

My heart sledged against its rib cage as I slinked down the air stairs getting into the car waiting by the side. All the news article said the same thing, that the car had sunk but a tiny bit of me told me that wasn't true. That it had to be false, that maybe somewhere, somehow I could get her out. That she was fine and okay, just for me, the kids and the baby in her womb.

My feet scampered out when the car came to a screeching stop just beside the water, divers lurked around, torches in hands, the screams and shouts made my hand flaccid.

The ring was long forgotten as I tried to search for his owner, the only one who had made my life bright but was now gone and would make my life a hell if I didn't find her.

My feet quickened, against the water as I tried to jump in when a man, short and crappy stood in front of me.

“You can't go in, the men are there, and we cannot be certain about what is going to happen to you if you go in there” he explained.
