"Are you okay?" Dean whispered softly to Kat, glancing slightly at Clarissa and Diana who were sitting a little further across in silence.
Kat gave Dean a meaningful look and then took a deep breath. "I am alright. I'm more concerned about Adrian's condition because he hasn't woken up yet."
“Adrian must be fine. You heard what the doctor said, right?" Dean looked thoughtful, but then he asked, “Why did you tell the doctor that you are Adrian's fiancé? Are you—?" Dean swallowed his saliva, “Do you still feel in your heart that you are Adrian's fiancé, still hope that your engagement will continue?”
There was a bit of bitterness there, in Dean's voice, having made his feelings for Kat so open. He didn't hide his jealousy either.
Kat shot him a stern look. “By claiming to be his fiancé, the doctor would consider me family, so he would provide me more detailed information.”
