Chapter 16

Katie's POV

It looked like it just rained, even though I was sure it wasn't supposed to for like another four months or so.

I find myself shivering at the center of the overgrown garden Killian had shown me the day he was supposed to reject me. My feet dug into the ground, my toes curling and packing some wet soil between my toes. They were oddly comforting in a way considering I usually would get irritated by the wetness of it.

I looked side to side. I somehow knew who and what I was waiting for…the why was what I had no idea about, so I waited. Wrapping my arm around myself.

To my surprise, I was hugging my boobs instead of a clothed body—it was no wonder I felt so cold.

Standing naked in an overgrown garden…

The door opened and there he was, wearing the same glistening green trench coat from that day in the hallway. My mind kept it fresh.

“You're late,” I said to him,

“When you have a business to run and an alpha president position You're aiming for, you would get the hang of it.”
