Chapter 71

Katie's POV

It was one of those days—which was almost every—that I didn't really want to face school. Usually, I have to mentally prepare myself to face it all. The bully, obvious side talks that are usually loud enough for me to hear, and the taunting on some intense days. I was ready for them all but today, I was far from ready. I was drained from the whole escapade with Joanna and Donald, and I knew it wasn't going to end there. Whenever they don't immediately lash out at me for the opposition, they always had something planned that was way worse than my move.

I was already ten minutes past my usual time of getting up. I could hear the bells ringing out and calling for me to get up before no bone in my body corresponded. I ended up just laying there until I heard some steps aiming down my hallway before throwing myself out of bed and into the shower. In the same spot, I brushed my teeth and washed my hair. I picked my most comfortable and most worn sweatshirt, a beanie, and headed
