Caught!

Amber ran in the dark to wherever her legs took her without stopping. She didn’t know the exact place she was going and she bruised herself when her body grazed on the bark of the trees but that didn’t stop her from running. Her foot suddenly hit the root of a tree and she stumbled on the forest ground before rolling down the sloppy land.

Amber groaned in pain and raised her head before trying to stand up with the support of her hands but she suddenly let out a sharp cry when she felt pains in her body. She rolled on her side such that her head was now facing up and she breathed heavily. Just then, sobs escaped from her mouth and hot tears rolled down the corners of her eyes.

She thought about everything. How did her life suddenly become this way? Why does it have to be her?
