The Equinox Ball (I)

It was not as loud as Rain expected it to be.

Once they stepped in and we’re noticed, the hall quietened even more.

All eyes were on them, some looked on in fear, some in attraction and others just pure lust.

The hall was filled up with at least a hundred—if not more—people. Most of them were extravagantly dressed, women glittered and men pulled up their collars too high and their ties too tight. It was a ball alright. A place where everyone definitely came to show that they were better than the other, they were more well off and shined the most.

The Equinox Ball is supposed to be a charity Ball considering what she had researched on Google, but right now it just looked like a place where people came to show off how much money they had.

Others would walk in and think, ‘Damn, everyone is so fancy!’ But Rain knew better, Rain could see beneath all those façades.

Ninety percent of the people there were just showing off fake luxury they could only afford once.
