Chapter 13

Iris felt some stinging pain all over her body. When she tried to move her body a painful groan escaped her lips followed by another small yelp. Her eyes fluttered open and she tried to plop herself up on her elbows. The surface beneath her body felt hard and cold sending her chills through her scraped back. Flipping her body on her right she crawled a little to find at least a wall to support her back. Seconds after crawling she found herself sitting on the surface resting her back on the wall. There wasn't much light in the small cell. The room felt extremely dark and heavily smelly. One thing that shocked her a little was her untied hands and legs. Since she arrived here, most of the time she found herself tied up.

Pushing herself up on her weak legs she tried to peek through the metal gate. The small dark corridor was empty but faint voices were coming from far. That was a clear indication of having guards posted around the cell.
