Chapter 37 - His Most Important Patient

“Come on, Cherub. Wake up.”

Skye grumbled, trying to push away the hand that roughly shook him from his slumber.

Exhaustion weighed on him and he couldn’t remember ever being so tired before. He wanted to snarl at the person trying to wake him up even as he wanted to cry at the sheer overwhelming tiredness that tried to claw him back into peaceful oblivion.

Groaning, he opened his eyes as the person wouldn’t leave him alone.

Dyllen’s grumpy mug stared down at him and he groaned even louder before trying to roll over.

“Oh, no you don’t,” Dyllen said as he bodily dragged him into a sitting position heedless of his protests. “You need to eat and drink before you go back to sleep.”

A cup was held to his lips, and that was when he realized just how thirsty he was. Greedily, he drank down the sweet water, his awareness coming back.
