It was well past nine when I eased the car into my usual parking spot.

I put the car in park, turned off the engine, and let out a breath. I am beat, my feet hurt from standing for the most part of the day but I had a smile on my lips.

I grabbed my purse and bent to gather my shoes before pushing the door open.

I winced slightly as I was almost blinded by headlights, blinking to clear my vision, and then I saw another vehicle pull up beside me. The light shuts off and Ian steps out. his white shirt bright in the night.

“Did it rain?” I frowned a little hopping from foot to foot on the damp pavement along curb. It had been clear skies where I went.

“A little” Ian answered, slight amusement clinging to his tone.

I looked up, smiling when I saw him coming around the car towards me. “Where’d you go?” I hadn’t realized he’d been out.

“I had a meeting of sorts, Good day? ”
