Chapter 8. Trusting the wrong person

“We need to talk, Mike,” Lara whispered with an adorable expression.

Mike smiled slightly. If he wasn’t in a hall full of his pack members, he would have pinched her cheeks.

“Alright,” he agreed. Mike finished the discussion with a few words before following Lara into the quiet room.

“Why didn’t you say anything about the wedding?” Lara looked upset, but that upset face looked sweet in Mike’s eyes.

“Don’t you want to marry me?” Mike asked back.

“Ummm....” Lara was silent for a moment. Her face was flushed, and she looked at a loss as to how to answer.

If Mike had asked her that, she would have said yes. Mike was her mate. Of course, she wouldn’t refuse.

“I am your mate.”

“Then I don’t have to ask anymore,” Mike said casually.

“But still... You have to tell me first. What if I suddenly have a heart attack from shock?” Lara was still upset.

“That means I’ll have to pick you up and take you to the hospital.” Mike replied with a flat expression, making Lara even more annoyed.
