Kendall’s POV

The evening sun cast a warm light over Margaret’s backyard as I sat by the pool, my feet dangling in the cool water. Despite the peaceful surroundings, a sense of restlessness gnawed at my insides.

Fingers tracing the delicate edges of the locket hanging around my neck, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of curiosity. Margaret had given it to me shortly after I arrived, insisting that it was a gift from someone who wanted to help me.

But as I opened the locket and gazed at the faded photograph inside, I couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that washed over me.

The man In the photograph was a stranger to me, his features faded by time and wear. His eyes held a certain kindness, a warmth that seemed to reach out to me even across the years. But who was he? And why had Margaret given me his locket?
