Chapter 2: Not the same world

After we were kicked out of the house, there was nowhere else to go. Life was extremely difficult. We have to work hard day and night to be able to carry on with life. And to be able to continue my mother's asthma treatment.

I dropped out of school and worked a lot of hard jobs to earn money.

Once, while working, I accidentally picked up someone's wallet that dropped. Luckily I found it and returned it to its owner.

After that, when I was on my way home from work, I was harassed by a man. Even though I tried to escape, the man still refused to let me go. When I upset them, he started to get angry and wanted to attack me.

I thought for sure that I wouldn't be able to withstand this blow. At that moment, a young man appeared out of nowhere to rescue me. When I calmed down, I saw that the man had run away. I looked up and saw the man again. It was the man who had dropped his wallet earlier. And the person who just helped me was his bodyguard.

After helping me up, the middle-aged man took the initiative to take me home. Because I couldn't refuse, I agreed and in the car, the middle-aged man and I talked to each other.

I learned that the man's name was James Brian. We talked for a while.

After understanding my situation. Understand why I have to come home from work so late. He gave me a piece of paper with the address and phone number on it. With the suggestion that I go to his house as a maid.

At first, I was a bit hesitant but then agreed.

After seeing the man's car leave. Then I looked at the paper in my hand and thought to myself. Am I dreaming or not? Everything happens just like in the movie.

“What are you thinking?” Mom asked and shook me.

My mother's voice once again brought me back to reality.

“Did something happen to you? From morning till now, I see you can't concentrate"

"It's nothing, mom. Maybe it's because I couldn't sleep last night, so I'm a bit sleepy this morning."

"I'm sorry, last night I was a little worried that I couldn't sleep. Make you lose sleep"

"I get it, don't worry about me."

Mom looked at me with sad eyes. She thought she could have given me a better life. But just because she was incompetently made me suffer.

My mother always thought that if it wasn't for her weakness, she could take care of me. Then I didn't have to drop out of school and wander like that. At my age, I should just enjoy the beauty of life. Not these burdens and worries.

I can understand why she thinks like that. But my mother didn't know that it was thanks to her that I was able to live until now. Because her smile is motivation for me to work hard every day.

I wrapped my arms around my mother's shoulders and rubbed her shoulders. Every time I see the wrinkles on her austere face, my heart aches. That's why I always try my best. No matter how difficult it is for me, I don't want her to be so sad because of me.

We walked and finally stopped at the gate of a very luxurious and magnificent mansion. Although I had seen countless large mansions before. However, this is the first time I have seen such a splendid place.

Its gorgeous appearance makes me a little distrustful, I can feel the obvious disparity between me and the people living here. It makes me feel like I'm living on another planet.

“Are you sure here, it would be weird if we went to the wrong place?”

“That's right, so don't worry. This is exactly where the man that night gave me the address."

I looked up at the mansion again. Although knowing that the man I met was not an ordinary person. However, I did not expect that man to be this rich.

This place is like a castle in the heart of a magnificent city. Every line shows luxury and splendor.

I involuntarily looked at the mansion and looked at the large garden through the iron gate. The scene before my eyes made me feel both familiar and strange at the same time. It's like I'm seeing the world I used to live in. A world that seemed attached to me. But it's a world that I have never belonged to.

Suddenly from a distance, I saw a man approaching us. He has a rather thin figure. Dress in a simple yet elegant suit. White hair is carefully combed with glue. I saw him push up his glasses to get a better view.

"I don't know who you guys are looking for?" The man asked me in a dignified and polite tone.

“We want to find Mr. James here.”

“Finding the master? If you are the master's guests, have you made an appointment in advance? If not, then I would like to invite you to come back next time. Our master only accepts guests by appointment.”

Suddenly I was made a little unnatural by the words of the man in front of me. At first glance, I think this is the butler of this place.

“We are not the master's guests. We are just people hired by the Master here to work as maids.” I said while handing the piece of paper with the phone number and address the man gave me the night before.

Mom and I looked at each other confused. That man saw our expressions and started thinking as if he was remembering something.

“Ah, sorry I remember! Mr.James told me yesterday. If that's the case, then please go this way.” Then the man opened the gate for us to go inside.

I don't know if it's my imagination or not, but perhaps after hearing that we weren't guests, the butler's tone seemed a lot closer.
