Chapter 20| Hurting You

Astrid's/Veronica's POV

I felt worried, and I felt like I was going nuts as I looked at Vincent's face. His golden eyes were closed, and he was sleeping deeply. He was still unconscious. When I looked at his neck, I couldn't help but bite my lower lip, and my eyes started glistening with tears.

His neck had wounds, and he was having a hard-time to heal. The doctor pack said it seemed Vincent and his inner wolf were having trouble communicating with each other, and it affects Vincent's ability as well as the healing of his wounds himself.

I slowly put my right hand above his right hand and gently squeezed it. I stared at him lovingly. For the past weeks that I've been with him, I knew I would never receive kind treatment from him. He was always rough and hot-headed towards me all the time. But, what about paying Peter back for what he did to me? And also defending me from the daughter of the council, from Miss Kate Meyer?
