Cat and mouse

He'd changed into something much more befitting before heading for the court. He wore a long coat jacket that made a cut just beneath his waist, he hadn't endeavored to button the suit, showing his solid hard chest. His hair was let down, slightly parted in the middle and his neck adorned with a black thin spiked choker.

They all rose when he stepped into the court, bowing with respect he acknowledged them with a nod. He let his eyes settle to their proper shade of golden before sliding into the chair at the head of the table the whole court followed en suit. He leaned, rubbing his ringed knuckles before grabbing an apple out of the fruit basket.

"We heard you've found your she," a curious brunette with blood red lips asked.

He merely waved it off with a chuckle, "rumors do spread fast, don't they?"

"A hunter, they say." A man, an elder to be precise spoke.

He growled at his misfortune. Verily he hadn't waited for ages to end up with a little demon who'd despised him just as much as he did. Not in this lifetime was he going to soil the name of the vampires by dragging it through the mud.

Another hissed with disdain, "we are doomed. An hunter can never be queen–"

"Quiet!" He snapped at their insolence, "and who said she was going to be queen? Mate or no mate I'll kill any hunter that comes my way and she's no exception. But first we need to have our fun with her, no? Let's see how 'badass' the hunter gets when she's turned a pet and tamed."

The whole room echoed with laughter and applause of happiness at the decision he'd made. But he still felt good about it anyways.

"Drink up everyone," he ordered.

Midway into their celebration and jubilation he heard moans of pains and agony outside before the door burst open and a raging spitfire stepped in, bracing a sword next to her side.

His eyes widened and he heard a few gasps of shock when she stepped in. They turned towards her but he leaned back into the chair awaiting and anticipating what she did next. He let out a dark chuckle when she neared.

"You don't have the outfit I had picked out for you on. Don't like it?" He questioned, biting into his apple.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" She spat, slicing the apple in his hands away.

Draven hissed before slightly baring his fangs at her insolence. He heard discontented murmurs from the council as they all whispered to one another talking about how brazen the little wench was, he shot them a cold glance and they quieted.

He looked down at the mess of apples on his clothes, his eyes darkened, "I see you walked in here with a little shiny new toy. It's pretty, goes with the pink robe."

"I'm not wearing that!" She protested.

"You will, and when I say you will, you will."

She frowned, "Make me,"

"I already did," in an instant he was on his feet, pinning her against the wall. "I know you think appearing in a room with prestigious people having a meaningful conversation wearing a pink robe and holding a sword is cool, but trust me you look entirely stupid."

She glared harshly at him, wincing at his words, "give me the fucking antidote!"

He laughed a delirious laugh before moving away from her, "make me."

With that, she snapped, swinging the blade at his neck. He stood unmoving, shrugging as he caught the blade in his hand, pulling it out of her grip and not caring if it cut his flesh.

He scowled, hitting her hard on her stomach with the butt of the sword she whizzed, stumbling backwards when the pain became unbearable. She grabbed unto the wall for support her eyes stung with tears.

"You're nothing without your little toys bug. And I'm going to show you just how worthless you are."

With that, he yanked her hair hard, pulling her out of the room. She groaned in pain, yanking at his hand but the next thing she felt was herself being thrown on a shoulder.

"Let me down you fucking cunt!" She screamed, flailing her arms.

"If you say cunt one more time, I swear—" he exhaled, stopping his words midway.

She screamed, punched and hit him but all to no avail, no one seemed to be willing to help. They just bowed and hastily cleared out of his way. After a few more turns, he stopped in front large rows of stairs.

She felt herself weaken, doubting if it was from all her yelling or from the poison he'd fed her. How had he poisoned her? Why wasn't she dead yet? And if it hadn't taken full effects, how long did it take to? She felt perfectly normal except for the ache where he'd hit her, an headache and a twanging nerve.

She felt him ascend the flight of stairs, taking it one at a time like he was drawing something out and anticipating.

He got in front of a large oak door, flinging it open he walked in, tossing her off his shoulders. She gasped in shock, she'd have been amazed if it wasn't for how sore her body felt.

The armory was fully packed with all sort of exotic weapons, from swords to sabers, daggers of all sort and kinds, axes, mace and clubs.

"Get up," his authoritative words stopped her from staring she gulped hard, limping up from her seat.

"Why'd you bring me here?" She questioned.

He grabbed a mini sized dagger, twirling it between his hand he smiled. "Let me make this fair and square for you. You hate me for being a vampire and now you despise me for taking you, well guess what, the feeling's mutual."

"How's that being fair? You hit me with a sword! Didn't they ever teach you never to hit a woman?" She fired back, nostrils flaring in anger.

He chuckled, his eyes gleaming with amusement, "that's why I want to make it fair for you. I've taken all your hunter toys, hence you're powerless without them. So, I'll let you fight me like one human would to another. No vampire tricks and power, no hunter toys. You have a wide range of weapons to choose from, pick whatever catches your fancy."

She walked back, doubting his words. He'd let her pick any weapon of her choice? She still couldn't believe him, not without doubting his motive behind this.

"What would you use?" She asked.

"Don't worry bug, I promise I'll be fair so, I'll use this." He said, motioning the dagger forward.

She smiled inwardly, if he thought he could win her with just a dagger then he had something coming his way. And if, like he'd promised, he'd fight her like a human then she'd gladly kick his cocky ass.

She grabbed two exotic looking katana's with intricate pattern on it. Unsheathing it, she flexed it in her hands, it felt quite light and swift.

"I see you've made your choice, let's get this over with then."
