Chapter 31

My legs were swift and I took a sharp turn to the left, coming to view the dark figure standing in front of the fountain. A smile unconsciously tugged on my lips and I threaded closer to where he stood,

His back was to me, his hands folded behind him and his head lifted to the sky. He hadn't seen me coming, his eyes were still focused on the bright moon,

I made my steps light, sauntering towards him quietly, when I reached out to tap his shoulder, he suddenly swiveled causing me to let out a shocked yelp. I wobbled helplessly, the back of my feet slipping on the concrete floor,

His arm wrapped around my waist, and I clutched at his shirt in a desperate attempt to keep from falling. My gaze finally focused on his face,

"Hey, little wolf."

The smell of pine and wood wafted into my nose and I leaned closer to him. My gaze locked onto his handsome face,

"Hey," My voice came out in a breathless whisper, and my fingers tightened their hold on the material of his shirt.
