"Be a good girl, and sleep with me a bit longer," Chris coaxed in a low voice, but that gentleness only confused Kathryn even more.

When Chris felt her shaking, he pinched her cheeks and finally let her go. "Get dressed," he said.

He tried not to scare her, but Kathryn was already scared silly. She couldn't tell he was being gentle at all.

She jumped out of bed and rushed out the door the moment she had her freedom.

Meanwhile, Cara was clearing the mess in the living room and was shocked when she saw Kathryn rushing out.

Kathryn didn't expect Cara to be here so early, so her face went completely red. She moved her lips and tried to say something.

But she was so embarrassed she couldn't say a word. Kathryn ended up retreating into her own room. Finally, she was alone. But her heart was still pounding.
