Chapter 137

An ambulance wailed as it came. Simultaneously, Chris' phone rang. Kathryn wasn't sure what was said on the other end, but his expression suddenly changed.

Seeing Chris' expression shift, Kathryn's heart leaped to her throat. "Yes, alright. You should go back first," Chris said before ending the call. He then turned to Kathryn, who nervously asked, "What happened?"

Chris replied, "Something happened at your sister's place."

Hearing that Jessica was in trouble, Kathryn's heart trembled. She was never particularly brave, and now she was utterly terrified. "What happened?"

"The police and ambulance are there. We'll get the details when we head over."

The caller didn't explain in detail on the phone. He only knew there was a commotion in the Quinton family courtyard. Even the neighbors were there, but the caller didn't tell him exactly what happened.

Kathryn shuddered at the mention of police and ambulance. She didn't need to think twice to guess that Wendy had caused trouble again.
