"Sure," I replied as quietly as possible for fear of waking Axe.

"We need space. I need a one-on-one talk with you," he continued to which I only responded with a hesitant shake.

Axe had just fallen asleep and I didn't want to wake him up at all. The poor guy was exhausted, I was afraid the slightest movement would wake him up.

"Just here, Dad." Yesterday in Axe's presence, Mr. O'Connor had asked me to call him by that title, there was no way I could refuse-he was also my father now.

"Axe could wake up if I move," I continued carefully. Incidentally, Mr. O'Connor had also told me to stop being so formal with him by not speaking too reluctantly.

"This is important. Xelle must not know what I'm going to say." Mr. O'Connor gave his son a worried look before finally turning to me with an unreadable look.

"Axe is already fast asleep. I'm sure he won't be able to hear our conversation."
