My breath hitched as I recalled the events of that night. It seemed like my subtle rejection had an unpleasant effect on his heart. Whenever I tried to get close to Axe, he always avoided me. I could tell he was back in a prolonged bad mood. His time was always spent working, leaving early in the morning and returning late at night. The cycle was like that for two days.
