"She isn't ready!" Blaze growled as he watched Esme via my eyes; although her gaze was scanning me with curiosity, I could see my wolf's point. Her breathing was slow as she braced herself for whatever I was about to do. Her hands slid in front of her, and I watched her pick at her nail beds, something I had seen her do the night she was dragged onto the stage at the auction house, a habit I could only assume was down to her nerves.

I wanted to break her in slowly, but the more time I spent with her, the harder it was to ignore the mate bond. And I refused to force it. She had been through enough without a forced mating as well. That is not how I wanted her to find out what she was!

BUT If she didn't believe me now, there was only one way she would. By showing her Blaze so, she had something undisputable at her disposal. Which I was prepared to do; however, it seemed Blaze was not, which left me at a bit of a disadvantage.
