CRYSTINA’S POV Paige’s call woke me up the following morning. Luka was no longer in bed but his spot was still warm. He didn’t stop kissing me through the night. We made out more than twice and I let him know both times that I was too tired for an all-night make-out session. The third time, he told me I didn’t need to make any effort that’ll tire me out. I didn’t understand what he meant until he buried his face in between my thighs. Crystina’s POV “What did you just say?” I asked furiously. I’ve been called that all my life, I can’t even walk around the street without someone whispering and calling me that behind my back. All my life, I’ve been tagged as the murderer’s daughter but this time, I won’t take it from her. “You’re nothing but a slut, a bitch, and a useless daughter of a useless father,” She shouldn’t have brought my father into the discussion. “You have no damn right to call me those names,” I yelled. Everything else around me seemed to have evaporated and it was just us standing in front of that restaurant. “What will you do about that, you weakling?” She pushed me by my chest. She was taunting me, she wanted me to turn and walk away as usual but no, I repeat I won’t let her bully me. She had a problem with me for unknown reasons, not my father. ‘We’re not a weakling, Star, kill her!’ Those were the last words I heard from Kris before I growled while I shifted into my wolf and charged at her.

LUKA’S POV I was in a Pack's meeting with my Beta and Gamma when another warrior tried reaching out to me through the mindlink. Thinking it was disrespectful and uncalled for, I ignored him. It was when Baba, my Beta told me about what was going on that I regretted ignoring him. I walked out of the meeting and insisted on my Beta not following me when they wanted to. I got to the location that I was told and truly, Mellissa was fighting my mate, for reasons unknown. I don’t know what happened and I don’t know whose fault it is or who started the fight but I know truly well that Mellissa must have provoked Crystina so much for her to shift and fight with her. I was still furious about what Mellissa had said to me and I was angrier at myself for allowing her words to get to me. CRYSTINA’S POV Even though Luka had said he would ground me for not telling him about what had happened between Mellissa and me, nothing happened. I can’t say if he actually told the guards or maids to not let me out of the house because I didn’t make any attempt to leave myself. Kris had been on edge since the day we fought Mellissa and she wasn’t in the best mood to be among people. It might be dangerous that way. I only allowed her for a run last night and it was for a few minutes before we returned back home. I didn’t want her to go too far and still, she wouldn’t stop nagging and complaining about how I was a party pooper. She said if only I had allowed her to fight others during the past year, they would’ve known she wasn’t that easygoing type. LUKA’S POV “To what do I owe this unpleasant visit, Mellissa?” I grumbled as I walked into my office to see Mellissa sitting at my table with a wide grin on her face. “Since when did my visit become unpleasant, Alpha? I thought I was your guest, shouldn’t you treat me with kindness?” After what she did to my mate, I planned on walking her out of my pack forever but on second thought and out of respect for her father, I left her alone hoping she’ll decide to leave once she wants to. “You didn’t treat my mate with kindness, so why should I reciprocate something you didn’t do?” I challenged. “I guess you only cared about her own side of the story and wouldn’t bother with mine,” I smirked at her stupidity. CRYSTINA’S POV He called me Crystina! Luka called me Crystina and it felt strange. When was the last time he called me by my name? It felt different because I could feel the anger and pain behind those words. I’m utterly confused about what was going on. Why was he so angry? Why did he want to kill Aiden that badly? After Luka left, I picked up the pieces of my pride and dignity from the floor, rubbed them against the surface of my hurt, and walked out along with Paige. He didn’t even allow me to explain what had happened before passing judgment. He can decide to ignore me and not talk to me again, he can even break the mate bond but never in his life does he have the right to call me a slut. I clenched my fist at my side and regretted not slapping him one more time. I was angrier than I’d been when I walked into the room a few minutes ago. I’d come with the intention of explaining and working things out but it appears Luka has already made up his mind.
