Felix's Story 3
Felix blinked at Kola who was still standing in front of his door. The latter was wearing his pyjamas as well but had a shirt over his top.
“Are you serious?” Felix asked and Kola folded his arms.
“Do I look like I am joking or something? Let’s go for a drive” Kola replied and Felix looked at weirdly before getting off his bed and wearing his palm slippers. He removed his phone from its charger and turned to Kola.
“Let’s go” Felix said as they both stepped out of the room. They walked into the seating room to see the other boys talking. David was trying to summersault eliciting loud laughter from the others.
“Where are you guys going?” Paul asked as soon as he saw Felix and Kola walk out of the room.
“For a drive” Kola replied and Stephen sat up immediately.
“It’s past 10pm. Who goes for a drive at past 10pm?” Stephen asked and Kola shrugged.

Felix slapped high fives with Kola as he got down from the car. He carried his bag in his left hand while one of his ear pods was fixed in his left ears. Felix stretched his legs on the sofa and placed his hands at the side of his head as they watched the TV. Kola passed the nylon of half eaten chips back to him and he took it and continued eating, his eyes not leaving the TV.“I heard that Governor’s Ademoyegun’s daughter is attending our school. Felix walked towards his friends that were standing under the tree. As one of the most popular guys in school, they were attracting way more attention than normal since Kola was also standing there with them. His hands were in his pockets as he sighed as soon as Felix walked over.“Why did you take so long? I’m going to die from hunger” Paul whined and Felix chuckled.“Die? Die if you want to, hunger doesn’t kill” Felix replied and the boys burst into laughter.“Felix!” someone yelled as the boys turned to see a girl running towards him with two other women and girls running after her. Felix laid on the bed staring into space. He could hear the other boys’ voices from the seating room. He could hear their conversation clearly as he stared into space. Paul’s question resounded in his head. What exactly was he angry about?He actually wasn’t angry. He was just flustered his friends had found out that he had a stalker and the stalker was the governor’s daughter. Ayomide had called him the first week that they had stated classes that Jomi was looking for him. Flabbergasted, he decided not to go to the Student Union building for a week after asking for permission from the President but Ayomide kept calling every day that Jomi came everyday even after a week.He didn’t know what she wanted from him so he refused to see her. Just as her mind had told her, after receiving such a huge amount of embarrassment the previous week, Jomi found herself walking towards where Felix had his classes. She scanned the hall and found Felix seating in the hall and leaned against the wall waiting for the lecturer to leave the class.She fumbled with the small box in her hands as she waited. Oyin and Efe looked at her Jomi in amazement “You really went crazy” Efe said as she placed her hands under her head and laid on her bed.“Why have you been staring at your phone since anyways? Wetin?” Jomi asked and Oyin burst into laughter as Jomi adjusted herself on her bed.She picked up her phone and counted randomly in her mind before pressing call and putting her IPhone near her ear. Her heartbeat started beating wildly and both relief and excitement coursed through her when the phone started ringing. Kola and Paul seemed to notice the both of them at the same time and Jomi quickly greeted them both with a small smile as she turned to Felix.“Don’t forget to take your drugs once you get home” Jomi said as she pursed her lips.“Goodnight” she added as she turned to go when Felix grabbed her and pulled her back.“Where are you going? Let’s drop you off” Felix said as he opened the back seat door for her. Jomi smiled widely before she got into the car.“What’s wrong with you?” Paul asked as he moved closer to Felix and touched his head before withdrawing it sharply.“Mehn, Kola; Felix is running a really high temperature” Paul said as Kola walked towards the latter with a frown on his face. He touched Felix’s head and his frown deepened. Felix smiled as he touched his forehead.“Let’s get going. I’ll take drugs when we get home” Felix

For almost a week, Kola made Felix stay at the hospital. He soon got popular with the nurses and doctors as the gang came every day to see Felix. Felix adjusted himself on the bed as he played a game on his phone.And for a week, he had not heard anything from Jomi. Not a phone call, not a text message nor a message on social media. It was as if, they were never friends in the first place. And just like Stephen had said, he got more disappointed every day.There were times he wanted to dial her number or send her a text message but in the end he did neither of the two. To say he was anxious who he an understatement. Felix had admitted to himself that he did expect her call and when she didn’t call, he got disappointed and at first, he was unhappy because she claimed she liked him and even when he got hospitalized for a week, she didn’t call or text.Later, Felix started to get worried.
