S2| 115. In Pain

After wetting the throat that was burning with anxiety, Julian wiped the cold sweat on his lover's white face.

"Mia," he called hoarsely. "Sorry .... I'm sorry for not taking care of you properly."

Instead of answering, the girl kept putting on a dreamy look. She didn't move at all. The eyelids that were raised to the maximum were reluctant to even make a single blink.

"Mia?" Julian called in a more slicing voice.

Not getting an answer, the man lowered his gaze towards the hole in Mia's shirt. Even though there was no blood flowing, he still felt uneasy.

"Can we remove it now?" Julian asked the man who was busy listening to the voice from the small speaker in ear.

"We'd better move your wife to a safer place first," the officer replied with a reassuring nod.

“Okay,” the CEO sighed while placing his arms under Mia's back and knees. A second later, without waiting for a signal, he picked up the girl. "Where should I take her?"
