Christmas Evening

"Aron's point of view,"

"Aron, I'm going to an important business meeting, so please stay at your aunt's place tonight."

"Mom, could you please take me with you since I don't want to go to her place?"

I begged my mother to take me along.

"Aron, please stop acting like a child. You are thirteen years old now, so act like it."

She reprimanded me.

"Okay, mom. Please don't send me to her place; I'll stay at home."

I disagreed with her.

"Aron, what's the problem with going there? I don't get why you dispute every time that I have to bring you along; my sister loves you so much that she meets all of your needs."

She gave me a fierce glance.

I clasped my teddy bear and bowed down, unable to articulate precisely why I didn't want to go to her place. Or maybe if I tell her the truth, she won't trust me at all.

My dad hardly ever came home because he was often on business trips. My mother doesn't have time for me either, because she is too preoccupied with her business.
