First Time Meeting After The Divorce

Three Years Later.

"Miss, I was asked to give this note to you" Mandy said as she passes me the note with a small smile on her face.

"Thank you" I said, smiling back at her.

It still amazes me that he still writes to me. Such a humble man.

"Congratulations once again, I'm sure your benefactor will be very happy and proud of you" I smiled at her again and she left.

It's already the end of the semester and I'm now a graduate of Cambridge University in business administration. It only took me two years to finish everything and I'm so proud of myself.

With a wide grin still plastered on my face, I gently opened the envelope to read the letter.

Ms Kyla,

You have finally made it to the last semester, you have no idea how proud I am right now. Congratulations!

The letter says.

His signature always sweeps me off my feet all the time whenever I set my eyes on it. He's just a perfect gentleman.

The fact that I still don't know what he looks like still troubles me but I believe someday, I will definitely get to see him. He's done a lot of good things for me and I will surely repay him back.

I was so surprised when I heard that he was going to sponsor me. I had no idea who he was but the school department told me aside from myself, there were other students he was also sponsoring. He's such a generous man. I wonder how much money he has though to sponsor a lot of us.

He was actually one of my inspirations in finishing my MSc in business administration. I wanted to be like him. To have a kind heart like him and to help a lot of people once I have that power.

Still looking at the beautiful handwriting on the paper and smiling widely at it, my mind wandered back to the past. When I just started my MSc programme. I relocated from New York to England immediately after my divorce with Sky. That was when I started my new life again even though it was very tough at the beginning.

I seemed like a lost soul at that period. It felt like nothing seemed to have meaning again especially when I found out I was already with his child... His son was growing inside of me and yet, he sent me out of his house like a piece of garbage.

He gave me money for my mom's treatment as promised and transferred another $2 million to my account. I wanted to refuse the money but if I do, how will I survive? How will I be able to take care of my mother after her surgery? How will I pay for the house rent and other expenses too?- those were my thoughts.

I didn't bother to return the money to him and rather, I took it and left. It was hard for me because I ended up leaving Hailey behind but I've got no other choice. I can't stay and I also can't take her with me.

when my Mom recovered, she was very upset when she found out about the whole situation. She wanted to confront him but I stopped her. He isn't worth it anymore. He tossed me aside for his mistress and it should continue to remain that way.

A year later, I decided to further my education. At the same time, I also got a part-time job at a bakery shop here in England. It's one of the most popular bakery stores here. Since I'm good at baking, I decided to work in a bakery shop rather than doing nothing except going to school. However, the school department announced to me that I was one of the selected students who would be offered a scholarship. I have no idea who my benefactor is as he doesn't want to disclose his identity but I know I do owe him a lot.

I was still lost in my thoughts when I suddenly heard a familiar cheerful voice whisper to my ear. "A letter from an admirer?"

I glanced up and saw his handsome face.

It's Leonard.

"Hey!" I smiled at him. "It's actually a note from my sponsor"

"I was just kidding, my love" I glared at him as he said that.

"Okay, fine. I was only kidding" He chuckled, raising his hand in the air and rephrasing his words.

Leonard is a nice guy and also one of the richest guys in town here in England. He's handsome, caring, playful, and most of all- ROMANTIC. I bumped into him when I just started my university class and from then, we became friends. He asked me out so many times but I told him to give me some time to think about it. He also knows about my past because I told him everything.

"Congratulations, my love. I can't believe that you're now a MSc holder. Can you believe that? I mean, during that time, you were just in your first year, and you-"

"Enough of the sermon, Leonard" I said, hitting his arm lightly, and he smirked.

"So, you want to go have lunch with me? Let's celebrate this together?" He asked.

"Of course, I would love that"

"Great!" He winked at me whilst I picked up my bag and we left the building.

Next Morning

It's another beautiful morning again. Around this time last week, my boss- Mrs Tina told me we will be having a big event today. She has this big orphanage home we always visit every two weeks by weekend whenever I'm around and not in school. I would bake cake for the children and we will take it to them.

Today, I was expected to bake cake for everyone because according to her, a very important benefactor who's also the orphanage home sponsor fell in love with my cupcake the last time he or she visited the place. I was not around. I was in school at that period. I decided to work hard especially when I had to help with the preparation also.

"You know, Kyla. I will be very happy if you meet our benefactor today. The person I told you about, you will be pleased to meet him today"

Him?

He's a guy?

"Erm... Mrs Tina, I know it's okay if someone likes my cake but, is it necessary to meet with him?"

She looked at me and smiled before saying. "It's time for you to meet someone dear, you've engrossed yourself with work and studies that you weren't ready to give anyone a chance. Besides, you don't have a boyfriend, do you?"

"Mrs Tina!!! Oh my goodness, are you seriously asking me this question?" I asked rolling my eyes at her.

"I'm sorry dear. It's just that the first day I set my eyes on him, I don't know why but my heart remembers you right away. When he said he loves your cupcake and he wanted to meet the baker, I had this gut that it was a sign. Don't you think so dear?"

"A sign of what?"

"God's way of doing his things dear"

I looked at her confusedly, I couldn't understand her properly and I also didn't know why my heart was suddenly pounding this crazy. It had been long that I felt this way. This weird feeling- I don't just understand it.

After that, none of us said a word to each other again. We entered her car and her driver drove off straight to the venue.

"Most of the guests have arrived and everything is already set too.

"Mrs Tina is asking for you" I heard Gloria say behind me as she walked into the kitchen.

"Thank you. I will join her shortly" I smiled at her and she left.

Again, my heart skipped weirdly just at the mention of the guests. I just don't know what's wrong with me.

I finally went outside and found Mrs Tina talking with some important people. The moment she saw me, she gestured for me to come closer to her.

I went to them and greeted everyone. To my surprise, they all answered sweetly even though they were all bigger people. Before I could say anything to her, I heard someone clearing his throat from behind.

"Oh, Mr. Sky Locason, thank goodness that you're here. This is the baker you've been wanting to meet"

SKY LOCASON?!!!

My heart skipped immediately. I slowly turned around and there he was, standing in front of me with a dark expression on his face. I looked straight into his two familiar blue eyes. Just like last time, it was the kind of look that could make you feel like you had just fallen into a dangerous trap.

No, no, no! This can't... This... can't be happening!!
