Chapter 3

Jayson looked out through the transparent glass wall behind his 10x10 feet office room at the tall towering buildings beside him with a confided look in his eyes.

Click...

At that time someone opened the door behind him.

"Manager Jayson, you need to sign these documents"

Hearing the pleasant voice Jayson turned back to his table and saw a black-haired girl in a white shirt and pink bottom with a gloomy look on her dark brown face. There is a pink batch pinned on her shirt with a five-leaf pink flower logo and words Lith Fashion written beside it.

"Okay", was the word all Jayson said as he tugged the files from her hand and signed them. Getting the signed documents the girl walked out from the room leaving the static Jayson to brood even more without any other words.

"It has been almost one month and all I do was sign the papers and everyone here looks at me like a plague", talking to himself, Jayson drifted into a haze thinking about something, "It's the same as back then, nothing changed even after I fight so long to get my dream", tapping on his table with the pen Jayson rolled his chair and stared back again at the wall.

"That wicked witch did this on purpose. All she talks about was achieving her dream so much that she doesn't care about others. Selfish to the bones", whispering those words Jayson walked out of his room and talked to his assistant who just now got documents signed from him, "Jenny, just pile up the files that are to be signed in my room"

His assistant Jennifer nodded her head without a word, Jayson moved down to the cafeteria with the help of the lift, "it was better than this when I stayed in that night club as a waiter"

Jayson drifted back to his days as a waiter in a club that has much less salary than what he gets now, however back then he had something now he doesn't have that is individuality and freedom.

'I know full well this marriage is a facade and the reason why im in this state was because of my decision if only I didn't fall for her back then', He was still perplexed if he made the right decision or not. It would have been great if he had attained the amount he needs faster.

'I made the pact with her so that I can get the amount I needed to start my own business but who would have thought that selfish Elle, will lock me down with the same pact.'

After their marriage for one month, he was a house husband; who did all the housework for her and stayed cooped in her house. But then as he couldn't handle that he asked her for an alternative and this is what he gets in return.

A job that anyone can do as long as they have a pen to sign. The thing he does all day was to sign hundreds of documents till the clock hits 5 pm, 'this ain't much different from how I was back at her house and my house'

'Even after I said so many times to change my job, she didn't skin a thing, it is like she is telling me, It's the only thing you can do.'

'I really want to make her regret things too, I too don't have a choice, I began something that is out of proportion of the straight line of my life to the sky. I can't back down now'

It was his personality. It might be a tough choice or something that's devasting, once he starts he won't stop until he meets the end road of it, and so he bit the bullet and stayed down in the job for so long.

Walking through the lift door into the cafeteria with a big board, Lith Fashion, Jayson sat down next to a vintage fat man who calls out to him getting himself a black coffee, "Uncle Stephen, every time I come down, you are here. Do you really work on the floor above me or here in the cafeteria."

The fat man with white and blonde hair mixed on his head on chubby face smiled, "Quit playing, Jayson. I have been here more than you do and im a professional when it comes to working."

Hearing that Jayson had a bad taste, 'am I even working. Don't tell me, he too is doing the same type of work'

Ahead of Jayson, Stephen asked, "tell me, why you look so vacant?"

"Well, shit happened in my life...", before Jayson could talk further a voice stopped him, "Uncle, you seem like enjoying your work...more here"

Lifting his head Jayson saw a pink-haired girl and seeing that he remembered something and looked to Stephen who now stood up with a big smile on the girl's presence, "Vivian, what are doing here?"

Both gave a light hug to the other and started talking,

"Just our family situation"

As she continued to talk more Stephen looked back to Jayson,

"I have to talk with my niece so im leaving",

saying that Stephen and the new girl Vivian walked out of the cafeteria, and just before disappearing into the lift, the girl looked back with a smile and winked at him.

Jayson felt bewildered for some time and after clearing his thoughts, he picked up his phone and dialed a number from his recent calls.

Tring... Tring.

Click...

Once the call got connected, Jayson didn't spend time on formal talks and shouted at the person on the receiver,

"Hey, punk! just tell me when you are coming here"

'I will come there within a week bro', the voice from the other end was that of a modest young man.

Even that modesty didn't work on Jayson as he yelled again, "that's the same thing you have been telling me for almost a year now"

'I promise you, I will come there this week. Believe me'

"Believing you is the only thing I'm doing now"

'I know bro'

"then hurry your shitty ass here, I can't talk more. Otherwise, that mad man will hear us"

'hey, Uncle wouldn't do something like that bro'

"You don't know a damn thing about him,  he is a... "

Clink...

Jayson smiled happily instead of becoming agitated on the opposite party ending his call halfway, "He ended the call halfway. Well, it's best, I'm sure that the old man will hear it and that is also the reason why I shouted to him. It's fun."

Haha...

He started to laugh out loud in the cafeteria startling everyone there.

"I'm more relaxed now", feeling refreshed, he returned to his office as everyone in the cafeteria gave him a weird look.

Once he entered his room he looked up at the same girl, his assistant returning with a pile of documents he felt a chill, 'just how long is this gonna continue for'

Somewhere in a high towering building of the neighboring country of Zhiton, sat three people and a man around his forty-plus asked the young man who hid his phone into his pocket with a scared expression, "Was it, Jay? "

Sweating from head to toe the young man nodded his head,

"Yes, uncle"
