38: Who helped you?

Cora’s POV

The book in my hand fell to the floor when I suddenly heard a series of bangs on the door.

“Open up!” I heard an unrecognized male voice and confusion washed over me as I realized that it must be a guard.

What had I done this time around? I wondered as I angrily walked toward the door and pulled it open to reveal two guards.

“You’re coming with us” They each grabbed me by an arm and pulled me out of the room before I could ask why they’d come for me and my skin crawled with irritation on feeling their hands firmly on my body.

“Unhand me you bastards!” I yelled at them in annoyance as they dragged me down the stairs.

“Are you deaf?!” My rage grew as they ignored me and pulled me toward a dark and unfamiliar path that I didn't know existed in the palace.

“Where are you taking me? Let go of me this instant!” I violently tried to push them off me but they felt like hard immovable rocks so my attempts were completely futile.
