Nik's pov

If anyone had told me that I'd find myself yearning for Noya like this, I'd have had the person's head dismembered from his body. I could not control myself around her. I couldn't even control my legs.

It was late at night and everyone was asleep yet I found myself walking towards her room when I should be in my room after the day's work. I was about to knock on her door when I heard a sound.

I strained my ear closer to hear her muffled cries behind the door. Without knocking, I pushed the door back to see her wiping away the tears. My heart clenched in pain.

"What is it, Noya?" Closing the door, I covered the distance between us and took her in my arms.

"It's no-" She avoided my gaze and wiped the tears away immediately.

"No lies." I stopped her from completing the statement. She sniffled and let out an exasperated sigh.

"I was having some troubles with knitting and-" She blinked thrice.
