Chapter 103: Breaking the news

I walked out of the castle with a swimming head. Everything around me twirled and danced, and my lungs had no air left. As soon as I was outside, I took a deep breath of cold, fresh air and walked in a random direction. The castle seemed to scream at me to return.

The hairs on the back of my neck raised when I left the grass around the castle.

I kept on walking, my heels digging into the gravel with a loud crunch.

I stopped on my tracks when the willow tree appeared in front of me. I hadn't even realised I walked through the maze. There was a slight fog in the courtyard, and the grass was already slightly wet with dew. One of the branches of the tree swayed in the wind, calling me towards it.

I sat down with a heavy sigh. The churning of my stomach almost stopped, but I knew I had to eat something. And probably drink a glass of water. I was definitely drunk.

A snapping sound behind me made me flinch.
