Desdemona

The men in the room glared at me,their nostrils flaring. Veins popped on some of their forehead. One of them actually had his fist balled on top of the desk.

"No one is getting demoted." Ettiene argued.

"Ams why is that?"

"We have worked to ensure our whole team is as productive as hell. We can't just let go of them like that."

"How productive are they?"

Silence.

"What do you use to measure their productivity?"

None of them replies.

"Good. I'll send over the lost after I go through everyone's performance. Anything else?" My eyes settle on each one of them.

Some ignore my eyes and others meet my gaze to make sure I do not miss the resentment they feel towards me.

"If so then I'll excuse myself."

"Don't play this game,Ariel. Don't go down this path."

"Don't worry,I won't end up like your company." I reply with a smile.

I look over to Ettiene one more time and the look on his face is enough for me to go through the rest of my month.
