Chapter 49 On My Side

Damien's POV

"Why did you chase my daughter?"

I lifted my face and looked at Lucresia's mom. The atmosphere isn't good. I can feel that she's not comfortable having me around but I don't wanna leave them alone there. Lucresia is sleeping on the couch and leaving them will make me worried.

I cleared my throat and handed her the plate of sliced apples. I put the knife down and I sat on the chair beside her bed.

"I still love her." I simply answered.

She stared into my eyes. She changed a lot. I can only see a sick person, gone the elegant woman who used to be so sweet to me.

"Even after your painful break up? Even after knowing that she's pregnant with another man's child?" There's a hint of curiosity and doubt in her voice.

I looked at Lucresia. Her peaceful face calms me down. I can watch her face forever. She's so damn beautiful.

"The past doesn't matter anymore. I tried to forget her, but I couldn't. I tried hiding my feelings, replacing it with anger, but it didn't work…" I paused
