Chapter 26: Phone Call

Because of what happened, I barely ate for the rest of breakfast. I saved every bite. When the food we ate was put away, I went straight to the hammock.

It was behind the house, under two big acacia trees.

I settled there carrying my cellphone that I hadn't touched in a few days.

As soon as I logged in to my Facebook, I was greeted with so many messages from Nina. I didn't read everything, I just replied to his last message.

Nina:

Lily, where are you?

Me:

Good morning!

I haven't blinked three times before I received a reply.

Nina:

Finally you replied! What are you doing! Let's meet, I'm home!

Me:

Edmund and I are out of town...

I accompanied it with a sad emoji.

Her first reply was the crying cat.

Nina:

Second honeymoon?

Me:

No, work related. Where are you now?

Sometimes, you have to lie even to your closest friends. Because there are things that even if explained, you can't fully understand.

Nina:

Did yoga earlier.

Me:

Oh it's over?

Nina:

Not yet. But your reply is more important!
