CHAPTER 28 They got to his office and he gave her paperworks as usual. She had no idea of what he was doing but she collected them and returned to her office to attend to them, wondering what got into his head or touched his heart. Had he suddenly decided to let her be after remembering how badly he treated her the other day, or did he wake up and decide to be a changed human all of a sudden? CHAPTER 29: She stood up from her seat and hurried to hold Jaxton as she pleaded with him unendingly, her steps were heavy and she had her heart in her mouth in case the men tried to find fault with her again. "Jaxton please, it is all my fault, please let go of his collar. I did not think too much about it and blurted nonsense. We do not have to fight about this." she pleaded, tapping gently on the hand gripping Paxton's collar. Her hand felt small and she felt slightly ridiculous. Compared to these two men with huge palms, if they were to smack her hand off, the possibility that she would get a dislocated wrist would be very high. He finally let go of his collar and glared daggers at him. His chest moving up and down in annoyance. "I am letting it go this time. But there won't be a next time." CHAPTER 30 Fuming and unable to accept that she had been used and dumped, she went back to Jaxton's office and picked files again as she went back to sort the issues with them. She put Jaxton at the back of her mind as she continued working. He was not going to get into her head and disrupt her daughter and thoughts. No one gave him that sort of power. No one.. Chapter 31The elevator doors opened revealing Jaxon, Sydney had been standing for a while now waiting for the doors to open and wizzled a breath when her eyes met with Jaxton. She tried to get in and join him in the elevator but he pushed her off, fixing her a tight glare he closed the doors and to her astonishment the elevator went up without her getting in. Chapter 35As cold as ice, pale as death was the frown lurking on Paxton's face. He stood at the hallway, peeking through the window, taking long glances at Sydney as she stuttered back to her chair.
